KLGCC Signs RM30mil Partnership to Upgrade Golf Courses with Sustainable Technology

“Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club has entered a RM30 million, five-year partnership with Jebsen & Jessen to enhance course quality using advanced turf, irrigation and sustainability-driven technologies.”

Kuala Lumpur, 27th January 2026, 11.10am – Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC), the flagship leisure asset of Sime Darby Property Bhd, has formalised a five-year strategic partnership with Jebsen & Jessen Malaysia Sdn Bhd through a Partners in Excellence Agreement valued at approximately RM30 million.

The collaboration underscores KLGCC’s ongoing commitment to elevating playing standards across its 36-hole championship layout through the adoption of advanced, sustainable and data-driven turf and irrigation technologies.

Under the partnership, Jebsen & Jessen will support a phased upgrading programme at KLGCC, introducing modern Toro turf maintenance equipment and advanced irrigation systems. These upgrades will be complemented by precision technologies such as moisture mapping and water management tools, aimed at improving course consistency, operational efficiency and long-term environmental sustainability.

The agreement was signed by Philipp Hoffmann, managing director of Jebsen & Jessen Turf & Irrigation, and Adam Calver, general manager of leisure at Sime Darby Property. The signing was witnessed by KLGCC club president Tun Musa Hitam, club captain Datuk Syed Tamim Ansari Syed Mohamed, senior representatives from The Toro Company, and Jebsen & Jessen Malaysia’s management team.

KLGCC, which has hosted more than 24 professional tournaments, is expected to benefit from enhanced playing conditions across both its East and West Courses. The initiative aims to ensure consistently high standards that meet the expectations of elite golfers while optimising resource usage.

Under the partnership, KLGCC will undergo a phased upgrading programme featuring modern Toro turf equipment and advanced irrigation systems, supported by data-driven technologies such as moisture mapping and precision water management.

Calver said the partnership reflects KLGCC’s focus on excellence, innovation and environmental stewardship, adding that integrating advanced turf and irrigation systems will further strengthen the club’s reputation as a leading golfing destination in Southeast Asia.

Hoffmann described the collaboration as a significant milestone for golf course management in the region, noting that the integration of high-performance turf solutions with precision irrigation systems sets a new benchmark for sustainability and playability. He added that Malaysia remains a key market for Jebsen & Jessen, and the partnership reinforces the group’s commitment to innovation-driven operational excellence.

Jebsen & Jessen Technology – Turf & Irrigation is the primary distributor and service provider for Toro products in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia, supplying solutions not only to golf courses but also to parks and stadiums.

Beyond equipment deployment, the partnership will also focus on long-term capability building through joint training initiatives and the adoption of evolving course management innovations. Over its five-year term, the collaboration is expected to further reinforce KLGCC’s world-class standing while supporting Sime Darby Property’s broader focus on quality, resilience and responsible stewardship across its leisure developments.
