“Setia Federal Hill becomes Malaysia’s first LEED ND V4 Platinum-certified township, setting a benchmark in sustainable, low-carbon urban development.”

Kuala Lumpur, 17th July 2025, 01.26pm – S P Setia Bhd’s flagship development, Setia Federal Hill in Bangsar, has become the first project in Malaysia to earn the prestigious LEED for Neighbourhood Development (LEED ND) Platinum certification under the V4 framework by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

The recognition marks a major milestone in sustainable township planning for the nation, with LEED ND Platinum representing the highest global benchmark for green neighbourhoods.

“This certification affirms our deep commitment to building sustainable, resilient, and inclusive communities. It is a testament to our collective vision, dedication, and collaboration that brought Setia Federal Hill to life,” said S P Setia executive vice president Liong Kok Kit at the official award ceremony.

He added that the achievement reflects not just Setia’s capabilities but also represents a breakthrough for climate-forward urban development in Malaysia.

Also present at the event were Setia chief strategy officer Lindayani Tajuddin and Dr Joseph Kong, director of DME Solutions, who served as the project’s appointed LEED consultant.

Masterplan Prioritises Low-Carbon, Walkable Living

The certification was based on Setia Federal Hill’s comprehensive masterplan submitted in 2023, which was evaluated across five key criteria: smart location and linkage, neighbourhood design, green infrastructure and buildings, innovation, and regional priority.

The 52-acre township is envisioned as a low-carbon, future-ready community, incorporating walkability, integrated green strategies, and ESG-focused infrastructure to support Malaysia’s sustainability agenda.

According to S P Setia, the Platinum certification further enhances the developer’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) credentials and positions the project as a top choice for eco-conscious investors and homebuyers.

Parkside Residences to Launch in 2H 2025

With a gross development value (GDV) of approximately RM1.4 billion, Setia Federal Hill will feature two residential towers housing around 1,300 units. Its first tower, Parkside Residences, is scheduled for launch in the second half of 2025, in collaboration with Mitsui Fudosan, a prominent Japanese developer.
