S P Setia Launches 40.5-Hectare Heritage Park at Setia Fontaines

Kuala Lumpur, Sept 21 - S P Setia Bhd has launched a 40.5-hectare public park at Setia Fontaines as the developer expands the recreational and community offerings within its township in Bertam, Kepala Batas.

Known as Setia Fontaines Heritage Park, the new attraction is intended to serve residents and visitors while supporting the township’s development as a lifestyle destination in Seberang Perai Utara.

The launch comes almost a decade after S P Setia acquired more than 684 hectares in Bertam for the Setia Fontaines development.

The park forms part of the developer’s wider placemaking plan for the township. Other recreational features include a 25.5-hectare man-made lake and a musical fountain, providing spaces for outdoor activities, community events and leisure.

Park Expected to Support Growth in Northern Penang

Penang State Executive Councillor for Tourism and Creative Economy Wong Hon Wai said the park could contribute to the socio-economic development of Kepala Batas and the wider northern Seberang Perai region.

According to Wong, private-sector investment in public spaces can help create more sustainable communities, strengthen local economies and support Penang’s long-term development objectives.

He added that the park could enhance the value and appeal of Setia Fontaines while contributing to growth in its surrounding area.

The opening was attended by Tun Ramli Ngah Talib, Toh Puan Noora Ashikin Raja Abdullah, state representatives, government agencies, strategic partners, residents and members of the public.

S P Setia Emphasises Community-Focused Development

S P Setia president and chief executive officer Datuk Zaini Yusoff said the project reflected the company’s long-term commitment to Penang and its approach to developing townships around public spaces and community experiences.

“Setia Fontaines Heritage Park represents our continued commitment to building beyond homes,” Zaini said.

He said the company aims to use green spaces and community-led activities to develop Setia Fontaines as an integrated township that supports Penang’s growth and creates long-term value for residents, visitors and the surrounding community.

S P Setia also envisions the Heritage Park as more than an amenity for township residents. According to Zaini, it has the potential to become a lifestyle and recreational attraction that encourages visitation and public engagement in Seberang Perai Utara.

Community Carnival Marks Park Launch

The opening was held alongside the Jom Mai Setia Fontaines Carnival, which featured family activities, Malaysia Day programmes, cultural performances, entertainment and tourism-related initiatives.

Tourism Malaysia, Penang Global Tourism, Maybank and other strategic partners supported the programme.

Through the park and related community programmes, S P Setia is seeking to strengthen Setia Fontaines’ position as a residential, recreational and lifestyle destination in northern Penang.
