“Rapid Bus will launch a new unified app, Rapid On-Demand, and expand its service zones in the Klang Valley this November to enhance convenience and connectivity for commuters.”

Kuala Lumpur, 23th Octorber 2025, 01.23pm – Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, the operator of Rapid KL’s On-Demand van services, is set to roll out a new integrated booking platform and expand its service zones across the Klang Valley starting November 2025.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Ku Jamil Zakaria said the company will merge its three existing booking applications — Mobi, Trek Rides, and Kummute — into a single, unified app called Rapid On-Demand to simplify the booking process and improve passenger experience.

Unified App Launching in Phases

“The streamlining will be implemented in two stages,” Ku Jamil explained.

  • Phase 1, involving zones currently using the Mobi and Trek Rides apps, will go live on Nov 1, 2025.
  • Phase 2, covering zones under the Kummute app, will follow by mid-November 2025.

“With this integration, passengers will only need one app to book Rapid On-Demand rides in all operating zones under Rapid KL, making travel easier, faster, and more user-friendly,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Rapid On-Demand app will be available for free on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Existing users are encouraged to switch to the new platform before Nov 1 to ensure uninterrupted access.

Service Expansion to Improve Connectivity

In tandem with the app consolidation, Rapid Bus will also expand and combine several service zones to enhance connectivity and accessibility for passengers across key urban areas.

The new combined zones will deploy 50 vans and link several key routes, including:

  • Metro Prima – Taman Botani Kepong (FRIM)
  • Serdang Raya Selatan – Taman Bukit Serdang
  • Semantan – Menara DBKL
  • Semantan – KTM Segambut

Ku Jamil said this expansion aims to make travel smoother and more efficient, enabling passengers to reach more destinations without changing services.

“Previously, users had to switch between different apps based on the zone, which was confusing for many. The new unified system provides a consistent and simplified booking experience across all areas,” he added.

Part of Efforts to Enhance Urban Mobility

The improvements are part of Rapid Bus’ ongoing initiative to strengthen first- and last-mile connectivity in the Klang Valley, making public transport a more seamless, efficient, and commuter-friendly option for city dwellers.
