Kuala Lumpur, 21th August 2025, 12.45pm – Berjaya Assets Bhd, the developer of Berjaya Times Square, reported a narrower net loss for the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2025 (4QFY2025), supported by accounting gains and steady revenue growth.

The group’s net loss came in at RM1.71 million, compared with RM20.81 million a year earlier. Contributing factors included a net fair value gain of RM4.3 million on investment properties and a RM1.74 million reversal of impairment on land held for development, according to its filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Revenue Growth from Times Square 2 and Ferry Services

Quarterly revenue rose 3.5% year-on-year to RM66.62 million, driven by:

  • Additional ferry slots and stronger demand for diesel
  • Progress billings from the Times Square 2 project
  • Higher occupancy rates and stronger F&B sales at its hotels

No dividend was declared for the quarter under review.

For the full financial year (FY2025), Berjaya Assets’ net loss narrowed to RM17.79 million from RM20.81 million in FY2024, as revenue climbed 6.9% to RM259.15 million.

The group’s operations include the iconic Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur as well as ferry services from its Berjaya Waterfront Terminal in Johor, connecting Batam and Bintan Islands in Indonesia.

Outlook: Cautious but Steady

Looking ahead, Berjaya Assets said global growth may face headwinds from geopolitical tensions, trade wars, inflationary pressures, rising energy costs and higher interest rates.

“Despite these challenges, the domestic economy is anticipated to recover at a moderate pace,” the company noted.
