“CIDB launches a Digital Construction Management platform to accelerate digitalisation in Malaysia’s construction industry and improve project efficiency.”
Kuala Lumpur, 10th March 2026, 02.48pm – Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) has introduced a new Digital Construction Management (DCM) platform aimed at accelerating digital transformation and improving efficiency in Malaysia’s construction sector.
The platform was developed by CIDB’s subsidiary, CIDB Digital Sdn Bhd, and officially launched by CIDB chairman Yusuf Abd Wahab during the organisation’s 25th Silver Jubilee celebration.
According to Yusuf, the launch represents a strategic step in strengthening the construction industry’s digital capabilities and enhancing productivity, transparency and project management efficiency.
He said the adoption of digital technology is increasingly critical for the sector to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving global economy.
“Digitalisation is no longer optional but necessary to ensure the construction industry continues to compete effectively in a technology-driven environment,” he said during the launch ceremony.
CIDB rebrands digital subsidiary
During the event, CIDB also announced the rebranding of CIDB E-Construct Services Sdn Bhd to CIDB Digital Sdn Bhd, reflecting its expanded role in supporting the development of a national digital ecosystem for the construction industry.
Also present at the launch were CIDB senior general manager Suhaimi Mansor and CIDB Digital chief executive officer Nazir Muhamad No, alongside industry stakeholders.
Supporting BIM adoption nationwide
Speaking to reporters after the event, Yusuf said CIDB has also strengthened its push for digital adoption through the myBIM Malaysia initiative.
The organisation has established the myBIM Centre in Kuala Lumpur, supported by 12 satellite centres across the country, to help industry players adopt Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology.
The initiative aligns with Malaysia’s long-term development strategies, including the Construction Action Plan 2026–2030 (CAP30) and the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), both of which highlight digital technology as a key driver for productivity and transparency in the construction sector.
Web-based platform improves project management
Nazir said the DCM platform is a locally developed integrated system designed to coordinate multiple construction disciplines, including architecture, structural engineering and mechanical works.
The digital platform enables more efficient planning, implementation and monitoring of construction projects by integrating modern technologies such as BIM.
Unlike conventional construction management software that often requires high-performance computer systems, the web-based DCM platform allows users to access project data through smartphones and other mobile devices.
Nazir added that the platform has already been tested in more than 60 large-scale construction projects across five countries, representing a combined project value exceeding US$8 billion.
