Selangor, 18th July 2025, 01.00pm – Rapid KL’s On-Demand van service enters a new phase starting today, with its coverage expanded to 12 additional areas across Shah Alam and Klang, enhancing first- and last-mile public transport connectivity in Selangor.
In a statement, Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, confirmed the rollout will cover key zones including Persiaran Dato Menteri–KTM Shah Alam, KTM Padang Jawa–Terminal 17, KTM Padang Jawa–Seksyen 7, U12 Cahaya Alam, Bandar Baru Klang, and KTM Klang–Batu Belah.
Additional zones now served include Taman Summit, KTM Klang–Teluk Gadong, Sri Andalas, Klang Jaya, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, and Bandar Puteri.
The expansion forms part of Prasarana’s long-term strategy to strengthen Malaysia’s urban mobility ecosystem, focusing on equitable and reliable transportation access for city dwellers.
“This initiative is more than just route expansion. It’s about improving access to affordable, efficient public transport for communities underserved by conventional bus services,” said Amir Hamdan, Acting Group President and CEO of Prasarana Malaysia.
To improve integration in the Klang Valley region, the Desa Pinggiran Putra–Dataran Gemilang Putrajaya zone will now be merged with the “MRT Putrajaya Sentral–PICC” route. The updated route will be renamed “MRT Putrajaya Sentral–PICC and Desa Pinggiran Putra”, providing a more seamless commuting experience.
Rapid KL’s On-Demand van service guarantees a seat for every ride and operates daily from 6:00 am to 11:30 pm. The service continues to offer a promotional fare of RM1 per ride, encouraging higher adoption among urban commuters.
