“S P Setia launches the Setia AI & Proptech Innovation Challenge to promote inclusive homeownership and smarter construction using AI. Applications open from Aug 1–31, 2025.”
Kuala Lumpur, 06th August 2025, 01.13pm – S P Setia Bhd has officially launched the Setia AI & Proptech Innovation Challenge, a forward-looking initiative under the Bengkel Inovasi GLC (BIG) Programme, designed to harness artificial intelligence (AI) and property technology (proptech) in solving key industry challenges—namely inclusive homeownership and construction quality enhancement.
In a media statement, S P Setia said the initiative is a strategic effort to make the homebuying journey more accessible, efficient, and inclusive, aligning with Malaysia’s MADANI framework.
“This initiative underscores Setia’s commitment to ensuring everyone has a chance to own a home, regardless of background or financial standing,” the company said.
President and CEO Datuk Choong Kai Wai emphasized that the future of housing lies in the transformative potential of AI and proptech.
“This challenge is more than a tech accelerator; it’s a concrete step toward creating high-quality, sustainable homes for all Malaysians,” he said.
The Setia AI & Proptech Innovation Challenge invites startups and innovators to propose tech-based solutions that address real estate pain points—from improving construction standards to enhancing buyer experience. Successful applicants will gain access to Setia’s resources, mentorship, and potential investment support to scale their solutions.
The programme is run in collaboration with Antler Ibex, the world’s first full-service vertical growth engine. Deepak Jayaraman, Partner at Antler and Global Head of Ibex, praised S P Setia’s approach:
“Setia is showing pragmatic and visionary leadership. Working directly with startups to solve real industry problems is the kind of ambition we are built to support,” said Jayaraman.
Applications for the challenge are open from August 1 to 31, 2025, and interested startups can apply through the F6S platform.
