“WCT Land partners with Maybank to offer up to 120% financing for GreenRE-certified homes, making sustainable housing in KL and Johor more affordable.”

Kuala Lumpur, 12th August 2025, 10.39am – WCT Land Sdn Bhd, the property arm of WCT Holdings Bhd, has partnered with Maybank to roll out a financing scheme of up to 120% for buyers of its GreenRE-certified developments, aiming to make sustainable housing more affordable amid rising living costs.

Under the plan, eligible buyers can secure a 95% housing loan plus an extra 5% for ancillary costs, alongside Maybank’s MyDeco Financing, which offers up to 30% additional funding (capped at RM250,000) for interior design and furnishings. The scheme covers Aras Residences and Maple Residences in W City OUG, Kuala Lumpur, as well as Adison Serviced Apartments in W City Larkinton, Johor Bahru.

Buyers can choose between conventional and Islamic financing, with flexible repayment terms of up to 10 years or until age 70. WCT Holdings CEO of property development Chong Wah Hing said the company is also exploring collaborations with other financial institutions.

WCT noted that the initiative aligns with Malaysia’s goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 by making eco-friendly homes more financially accessible.

Aras Residences Gains Momentum
Aras Residences, launched last month, has recorded a 30% take-up rate. The freehold, park-front serviced residence is part of the 63-acre W City OUG masterplan and is expected to be completed in Q4 2029. The project offers 1,272 units across two layouts: 850 sq ft (two bedrooms, two bathrooms) and 1,062 sq ft (three bedrooms, two bathrooms), with prices starting at RM660,000.

The development holds a Provisional GreenRE Silver Certification for its energy-efficient features, including solar-ready infrastructure, natural ventilation, rainwater harvesting, and energy-saving lighting. It also meets regulatory requirements for EV infrastructure, with 21 chargers to be installed.

Commitment to Green Development
Chong highlighted that 80% of WCT Land’s ongoing projects (excluding affordable housing) have green certification, including Pavilion Mont Kiara (Silver), Maple Residences (Bronze), and Adison Serviced Apartments (Bronze). Future projects are also expected to achieve certification.

He noted growing environmental awareness among homebuyers, particularly younger demographics, who increasingly inquire about the company’s sustainability measures.

Calls for Policy Support
WCT Land is urging the government to extend incentives for first-time homebuyers, revive the Home Ownership Campaign (HOC), and consider corporate tax relief and real property gains tax (RPGT) exemptions to offset higher construction costs
