“Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is set to open in August 2025 atop Merdeka 118, the tallest tower in Asia Pacific. The luxury hotel offers panoramic views, premium dining, and marks Hyatt’s continued expansion in Malaysia’s high-end hospitality market.”
Kuala Lumpur, 08th July 2025, 11.30am – The highly anticipated Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is slated to open in August 2025, taking residence on the uppermost levels of the iconic Merdeka 118 tower—the tallest skyscraper in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Occupying floors 100 to 112, the luxury hotel will offer unparalleled panoramic views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline. Featuring 252 guestrooms, including 27 elegant suites, Park Hyatt KL blends Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage with modern design, showcasing local craftsmanship in every detail.
According to Hyatt’s official website, opening rates start at RM2,455 per night for standard rooms measuring between 570 and 635 sq ft, while corner king rooms (613 to 742 sq ft) are priced from RM3,165 per night. All rooms are designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, providing guests with unobstructed city views.
Dining will be a central attraction. Located on the 75th floor, the hotel’s three signature restaurants will offer an elevated culinary experience. Notably, Park Hyatt KL will feature the Cacao Bar—the first chocolate-themed bar in the city and the highest of its kind in Kuala Lumpur—catering to luxury travellers seeking immersive gastronomic experiences.
Hyatt’s Expansion Strategy in Malaysia and Asia Pacific
Park Hyatt KL marks Hyatt’s return to the Malaysian capital and is part of the group’s broader expansion in the region. On August 26, Hyatt will also debut Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown, near the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). The new 450-room hotel will anchor the fast-growing KL Midtown business hub.
In a recent statement, Hyatt Hotels Corporation confirmed that nearly 90 new hotels are expected to launch across Asia Pacific over the next five years, with an emphasis on luxury and lifestyle brands. This includes upcoming properties under Park Hyatt, Andaz, The Standard, and the regional debut of Thompson Hotels.
Hyatt has more than doubled its global luxury room count since 2017, tripled its resort offerings, and increased its lifestyle hotel footprint five-fold.
“Today’s luxury travellers seek authenticity and unique experiences,” said Carina Chorengel, Senior Vice President of Commercial, Asia Pacific. “Our refined brand architecture and focused expansion position Hyatt as a leader in luxury and lifestyle hospitality in the region.”
As of Q1 2025, 64% of Hyatt’s Asia Pacific portfolio falls under the luxury and upper-upscale categories, underscoring the group’s commitment to capturing demand in one of the world’s fastest-growing travel markets.
