“Sultan of Pahang raises his stake in Citaglobal Bhd to 13.25% through a 15 million share off-market deal, becoming the second-largest shareholder after Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria.”

Kuala Lumpur, 07th August 2025, 11.55am – The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has raised his direct stake in Citaglobal Bhd to 13.25%, following the acquisition of 15 million shares in an off-market transaction on Wednesday.

The move boosts the monarch’s direct shareholding in the diversified engineering and infrastructure company from 9.72% to 13.25%, equivalent to 56.37 million shares, according to a Bursa Malaysia filing by Citaglobal.

The shares were offloaded by Tiza Global Sdn Bhd, a private entity owned by Citaglobal executive chairman and president Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria. Bloomberg data indicates the 15 million-share block was traded at 80 sen apiece, valuing the transaction at RM12 million, although the company has not officially disclosed the deal price.

Despite the disposal, Norza remains the largest shareholder of Citaglobal with a 29.31% combined direct and indirect stake via Tiza Global, while Al-Sultan Abdullah is now the second-largest shareholder.

This development comes a day after Citaglobal announced a RM40 million deal to acquire a 12.8% indirect stake in the master developer of the Perlis Maritime Corridor (PMC). The strategic investment involves issuing new shares for a 20% stake in Manjaran Sdn Bhd, which holds indirect equity in Mutiara Perlis Sdn Bhd, the PMC master developer.

Upon completion, Dedap Rimbun Sdn Bhd, owned by Datuk Shabaruddin Ibrahim and family, will emerge as Citaglobal’s third-largest shareholder—behind Norza and Al-Sultan Abdullah.

Shares of Citaglobal closed 1.86% higher at 82 sen on Wednesday, bringing its market capitalisation to RM346.82 million.
