Editorial Policy

MetProperty (metproperty.com) Last Updated: June 2026

1. Introduction

MetProperty is a Malaysian property news and real estate information platform dedicated to helping homebuyers, investors, and industry professionals make informed decisions about property in Malaysia. Our coverage spans new residential launches in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, property market analysis, investment insights, developer news, housing policy updates, and practical guides for buyers and owners.

Our mission is straightforward: to provide accurate, timely, and balanced property information that reflects the realities of the Malaysian real estate market. We serve readers at every stage of their property journey — from first-time buyers researching their options to seasoned investors tracking market trends and Bursa Malaysia-listed developer performance.

This Editorial Policy sets out the principles and processes that govern how we plan, research, write, edit, and publish content. It is published publicly so that our readers, industry partners, and advertisers understand the standards we hold ourselves to and what they can expect from MetProperty.

2. Editorial Independence

MetProperty’s editorial decisions are made independently by our editorial team. The selection of topics, the framing of stories, the conclusions drawn in analysis pieces, and the facts we choose to report are determined solely on the basis of editorial merit and reader interest.

Advertising relationships, sponsorship arrangements, and commercial partnerships with property developers, agencies, or other industry participants do not influence the content of our news reporting, market analysis, or property guides. Advertisers and sponsors do not receive advance knowledge of editorial content, nor do they have any right to review, approve, or request changes to editorial articles before or after publication.

Our editorial team operates with full independence from MetProperty’s commercial and business development functions. If a conflict of interest arises in relation to any specific piece of content, that content will either be handled by an independent writer or the potential conflict will be disclosed clearly to readers.

3. Content Standards

MetProperty holds its content to the following core standards:

Accuracy. We publish information only when we have reasonable confidence in its accuracy. Where precise figures are not available, we clearly indicate that a number is an estimate, projection, or unverified report. We do not speculate as though speculation is established fact.

Fairness. When reporting on companies, developers, public officials, or policies, we aim to present a fair and balanced picture. Where criticism is warranted, it is based on verifiable evidence, not assumption. Where a party is the subject of negative coverage, we make reasonable efforts to seek their response before publication.

Objectivity. We approach market analysis and investment topics without a predetermined conclusion. Our role is to present readers with the evidence, context, and informed perspectives they need to form their own views — not to promote a particular investment outcome.

Transparency. We are clear about what type of content readers are reading. MetProperty publishes several distinct content formats, and we keep these clearly separated:

  • News Reports — Factual reporting on property market developments, developer announcements, government housing policies, and Bursa Malaysia filings. These articles aim to report events as they happen, without editorial opinion.
  • Market Analysis and Guides — In-depth content that interprets data, trends, and market conditions to provide context and insight. These pieces reflect informed editorial judgement and are identified accordingly.
  • Opinion and Commentary — Where a piece represents the view of a named writer or contributor, this is clearly labelled as opinion or commentary.
  • Sponsored Content and Advertorials — Commercial content produced in partnership with advertisers. This content is clearly labelled as sponsored and is governed by the standards described in Section 7 below.

4. Sources and Verification

MetProperty draws on a range of primary and secondary sources to support its reporting and analysis. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Official announcements and statements from Malaysian government ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), Bank Negara Malaysia, the Valuation and Property Services Department (JPPH), and relevant local authorities.
  • Bursa Malaysia exchange filings, quarterly results, and company announcements from listed property developers and construction companies.
  • Developer press releases, official project launches, and direct communications with developer representatives.
  • Industry research and market reports from established property consultancies and research firms operating in Malaysia.
  • National and state housing data, transaction records, and planning approvals from public databases.
  • Statements and commentary from licensed real estate agents, valuers, and property investment professionals.
  • Reputable local and international news sources for context on broader economic and regulatory developments affecting the Malaysian property sector.

Before publishing, our team verifies key facts — including prices, project specifications, financial figures, and official statements — against primary or secondary sources wherever possible. Where a claim cannot be independently verified, we indicate this clearly in the article. We do not publish unverified figures as established facts.

For news involving publicly listed developers, we cross-reference information against official Bursa Malaysia filings before reporting on financial results, material transactions, or corporate developments.

5. Corrections Policy

MetProperty is committed to correcting factual errors promptly and transparently.

If we publish inaccurate information, we will correct it as soon as we become aware of the error, whether through internal review, reader feedback, or notification from the subject of the article. Corrections are made directly in the affected article.

Where an error is significant — for example, an incorrect financial figure, a misattributed statement, or a materially misleading claim — a correction notice will be included within the article to acknowledge that a change has been made and to describe what was corrected. Minor corrections, such as typographical errors that do not affect the substance of the reporting, may be corrected without a formal notice.

Readers who believe an article contains a factual error are encouraged to contact our editorial team at admin@metproperty.com with the relevant details. We review all correction requests and respond where appropriate.

6. Author Expertise

MetProperty’s content is written and reviewed by writers, researchers, and contributors with relevant knowledge of the Malaysian property market. Our team brings direct experience in areas including residential property analysis, new development coverage, real estate investment, housing finance, and property market research in Malaysia.

Where we publish commentary or analysis on specialised topics — such as developer financial performance, legal aspects of property transactions, or urban planning policy — we seek input from professionals with recognised expertise in the relevant field. Named contributors and subject matter experts are identified where relevant.

We do not publish content under generic or anonymous bylines for the purpose of obscuring the source of editorial judgement. Authors are identified by name on published articles, providing readers with accountability and context for the perspective being offered.

7. Sponsored and Advertising Content

MetProperty works with property developers, agencies, and industry service providers on commercial content arrangements. We are committed to ensuring that readers can always distinguish between editorial content and paid commercial content.

All sponsored articles, advertorials, and paid partnerships are clearly labelled with a visible designation such as “Sponsored,” “Advertorial,” or “Paid Partnership” at the top of the content. This labelling is applied consistently and is not designed to be obscured or minimised.

Sponsored content may describe a development, service, or company in positive terms as part of a paid arrangement. However, sponsored content published on MetProperty must not contain false or misleading factual claims. We reserve the right to decline, edit, or remove sponsored content that conflicts with this requirement.

The commercial arrangements behind sponsored content have no bearing on the content of MetProperty’s independent editorial articles. A developer that advertises with MetProperty receives no preferential editorial treatment, and a developer that does not advertise is not disadvantaged in our coverage.

Property listings and featured development profiles on MetProperty may be provided by developers as part of commercial arrangements. These are distinct from editorial content and are presented as property information rather than independent editorial reviews.

8. AI and Content Creation Policy

MetProperty may use artificial intelligence tools to assist in aspects of the content production process, including initial research, data organisation, drafting, and editing support. AI tools help our team work more efficiently; they do not replace editorial judgement or human accountability.

All content published on MetProperty — including content where AI tools have played a role in drafting — undergoes human review and editing before publication. Our editorial team is responsible for verifying the accuracy of information, ensuring the content meets our editorial standards, and making the final decision on what is published.

Editorial responsibility for all content on MetProperty rests with our human editorial team, not with any AI system. Where AI-assisted content is found to contain errors, the same corrections process described in Section 5 applies.

We do not use AI tools to fabricate quotes, invent sources, or generate statistics that are not grounded in verifiable real-world data. Any figure, market data point, or cited source in a MetProperty article is expected to be traceable to a real and credible origin.

9. Reader Feedback and Contact Information

MetProperty welcomes feedback from readers, industry professionals, and members of the public.

If you have identified a factual error in an article, we ask that you contact our editorial team with the specific details of the error, the article in question, and, where possible, a reference to the correct information. We take all correction requests seriously and will respond to substantive queries.

If you have a news tip, press release, or story suggestion related to Malaysian property, we welcome your submissions.

If you have concerns about how a specific piece of content has been handled — including questions about editorial independence, labelling of sponsored content, or source attribution — you may raise these directly with our team.

Editorial contact: Email: admin@metproperty.com

General enquiries: Email: admin@metproperty.com Website: www.metproperty.com/contact-us

We aim to respond to editorial correspondence within five business days.

10. Updates to This Policy

This Editorial Policy reflects MetProperty’s current editorial standards and practices. We recognise that the media landscape, technology, and industry norms evolve over time, and we are committed to updating this policy when those changes are material to how we operate.

This policy will be reviewed periodically — at minimum on an annual basis — and updated to reflect changes in our content formats, production processes, commercial arrangements, or applicable industry guidelines, including those issued by Google and other major distribution platforms.

When significant changes are made to this policy, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Readers who wish to understand how our editorial standards have evolved are welcome to note this date when referring to the policy.

We encourage all readers, contributors, and commercial partners to familiarise themselves with this policy and to contact us with any questions.

MetProperty is committed to providing trustworthy, independent property information for Malaysian readers. This Editorial Policy is published in the interest of transparency and is available publicly at metproperty.com.
