Kuala Lumpur, 21th July 2026, 12.16pm – Twelve of Malaysia’s leading property developers have been inducted into The Edge Malaysia Responsible Developer Hall of Fame 2026 during the 10th edition of The Edge Malaysia Best Managed & Sustainable Property Awards (BMSPA), recognising their long-term commitment to sustainable development, quality property management and community building.
The Hall of Fame honours previous recipients of The Edge Malaysia Responsible Developer Award, recognising developers whose projects continue to create lasting value through well-managed communities and sustainable developments.
12 Developers Recognised for Long-Term Excellence

According to The Edge Malaysia, the accolade recognises developers that have consistently demonstrated responsible development practices, measuring success not only by completed projects but also by how their developments continue to perform and serve residents over time.
New Award Recognises Property Management Leadership
This year’s awards also introduced The Exemplary Contribution to Management Corporations Award, which honours individuals who have significantly contributed to raising standards in property management, maintenance and community living.
The inaugural recipients were Khaw Chay Tee and Datuk Angie Ng.
Property Management Begins Before Completion
Speaking during the gala dinner at Hilton Kuala Lumpur, The Edge Malaysia publisher and group CEO Datuk Ho Kay Tat said BMSPA was established to emphasise that quality property management is an essential part of the property ownership journey.
He noted that handing over the keys marks only the beginning, as buildings can remain sustainable and retain their value only through effective long-term management.
Ho added that the awards were created to challenge the perception that property management is merely an afterthought, highlighting the collective role played by developers, management teams and residents in maintaining thriving communities.
Hannah Yeoh: Build Beyond Completion
Guest of honour Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh stressed that successful property management begins during the planning and design stages rather than after a project is completed.
She said every design decision carries future maintenance implications and urged developers to prioritise long-term liveability instead of focusing solely on project completion.
Yeoh also emphasised that architectural excellence alone is insufficient if residents do not feel safe or well cared for, encouraging developers to build with future generations in mind.
Record Participation at BMSPA 2026
The 2026 edition attracted a record 70 submissions, with 52 developments shortlisted across 11 award categories.
The awards cover various property segments, including:
- Residential
- Office
- Mixed Development
- Retail
- Specialised Properties
- Repurposed Properties
Each category is further divided into developments that are Below 10 Years and 10 Years and Above.
Besides the Responsible Developer Award, BMSPA also features the Editor’s Choice Awards and The Edge Malaysia-ILAM Sustainable Landscape Awards.
Overall, 36 developments were recognised this year, comprising:
- 16 Gold Awards
- 13 Silver Awards
- 3 Bronze Awards
- 4 Special Mention Awards

- Residensi Sofiya – Excellence in Affordable Homes Management
- Mitsui Serviced Suites Bukit Bintang City Centre – Excellence in Serviced Suites Management
- Sunway Putra – Excellence in Integrated Development Management
- Wisma CIMB – Excellence in Corporate Office Transformation & Management
- Axis Aerotech Centre – Excellence in Aerotech Industrial Facility Management
- Setia Fontaines Heritage Park – Excellence in People-centred Landscape Design
- Wetlands Arboretum – Excellence in Wetland Conservation and Education
All five property developments also secured Gold Awards in their respective BMSPA categories, while Setia Fontaines Heritage Park and Wetlands Arboretum received Gold recognition under The Edge Malaysia-ILAM Sustainable Landscape Awards 2026.
Industry Collaboration
Founded in 2017, BMSPA recognises excellence in the construction, management and long-term maintenance of real estate developments.
This year’s judging panel comprised industry leaders representing REHDA Malaysia, the Singapore Association of Property and Facility Managers (APFM), Malaysian REIT Managers Association (MRMA), Building Management Association of Malaysia (BMAM), Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM), Malaysian Institute of Property and Facility Managers (MIPFM), alongside architects, sustainability professionals and property experts.
The awards were supported by APFM, Architect Centre, BMAM, EdgeProp Malaysia, ILAM, MRMA, REHDA and MIPFM, with the results independently audited by Deloitte Malaysia.
