“JLand Group partners with China’s ZGC International to develop Johor’s Ibrahim Technopolis and Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, aiming to attract global tech firms and boost high-tech investment.”

Kuala Lumpur, 14th August 2025, 01.30pm – JLand Group (JLG), the real estate and infrastructure arm of Johor Corporation (JCorp), has entered a three-year strategic collaboration with China’s ZGC International Holding Ltd to position Johor as a premier regional hub for innovation and high-technology investment.

The agreement, formalised through a non-binding memorandum of understanding, will leverage JLG’s flagship industrial developments — including Ibrahim Technopolis (IBTEC) and projects within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) — to attract global technology firms and future-focused industries.

Under the partnership, both companies will focus on:

  1. Relocation Support – Assisting international companies in establishing operations in Johor.
  2. JS-SEZ Co-Development – Jointly promoting and developing the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.
  3. Innovation Centre – Creating a Johor-based research and development hub to foster ecosystem growth.

JLG group managing director Datuk Akmal Ahmad described the collaboration as “a strategic leap forward in scaling our ecosystems globally,” highlighting ZGC International’s proven innovation model and global network across the US, Europe, and Asia.

ZGC International general manager Lu Jiang said the partnership aligns with the company’s mission to connect global innovation resources with high-growth markets, particularly in Southeast Asia.

The initiative supports both national and state-level economic blueprints under Maju Johor 2030 and the 13th Malaysia Plan, with a focus on advancing digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and cross-border economic integration.
