PM Anwar Ibrahim unveils Madani Inclusive Housing, catalyzing affordable living for all Malaysians, prioritizing quality and inclusivity.
KUALA LUMPUR, DEC 12 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed that the Madani Inclusive Housing Concept will play a pivotal role in promoting affordable housing projects for specific target groups across the nation.
Anwar highlighted the collaborative efforts initiated with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to provide residences to targeted groups in the capital. He underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to the housing agenda, ensuring that Malaysians from all income groups can reside in a conducive and harmonious environment.
In a Facebook post on Monday, Anwar stated, “Our aim is to build a Madani community that enjoys quality and cohesive living.”
Earlier in the day, Anwar chaired the National Affordable Housing Council (MPMMN) meeting, addressing housing issues between the federal government, state governments, and industry players. The discussion encompassed the direction, coordination, and monitoring of affordable housing plans, construction, and maintenance of houses.
During the meeting, Anwar endorsed the target of providing 500,000 affordable housing units under the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12), emphasizing the importance of achieving this goal for the benefit of the people.
“I have stressed the need to expedite efforts and approval periods to boost investment, ease business dealings, and encourage developers to build more affordable houses,” he noted.
The meeting witnessed the participation of respective menteri besar, chief ministers, housing executives, cabinet ministers, and stakeholders from federal and state governments, statutory bodies, and the private sector housing developers.
