“Shin Yang Group Bhd will acquire a 5.37-hectare land in Kota Kinabalu for RM26.6 million to expand its warehouse and logistics operations in Sabah.”

Kuala Lumpur, 22th Octorber 2025, 12.50pm – Shipping and logistics company Shin Yang Group Bhd has announced plans to acquire a 5.37-hectare industrial land parcel in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, from its controlling shareholder, Shin Yang Sdn Bhd (SYSB), for RM26.6 million in cash.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday, the group said the land—located near Sepanggar Bay and housing an existing workshop building—will support warehouse expansion and logistics development projects as part of its long-term growth strategy.

Transaction to Strengthen Operational Capacity

The company noted that the acquisition, situated within the Sepanggar Bay Industrial Area, aligns with Shin Yang’s strategic goal to enhance operational capacity, strengthen supply chain efficiency, and expand logistics infrastructure in East Malaysia.

“The proposed acquisition will enable the group to optimise logistics capabilities and support the future growth of its warehousing operations,” Shin Yang said in its statement.

The deal will be fully funded through internally generated funds and is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.

Minimal Financial Impact Expected

According to the group, the transaction is not expected to have a material impact on Shin Yang’s net assets per share or earnings for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025.

SYSB, the seller, is a subsidiary of Shin Yang Holding Sdn Bhd, which owns 58.61% of Shin Yang Group. As such, the deal is classified as a related-party transaction (RPT) under Bursa Malaysia’s listing requirements.

Shin Yang Holding, controlled by the Ling family, is led by Tan Sri Ling Chiong Ho, who serves as the executive chairman of Shin Yang Group.
