“Eversendai Corp, a Malaysian construction leader, helped build iconic landmarks like Burj Khalifa and One Za’abeel, setting global milestones.”
Kuala Lumpur, 18th Sept 2024, 01.10pm – Few may be aware that Malaysian construction company Eversendai Corp Bhd has played a major role in building several of the world’s most iconic landmarks, including the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Al Shams Sky Tower in Abu Dhabi, the KLCC Petronas Twin Towers, and the Merdeka 118 Tower.
This accomplishment was highlighted by Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi in a recent Facebook post following his visit to Eversendai’s largest steel fabrication plant, located in the Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Nanta, during his official working visit to Dubai, highlighted that Eversendai is the only Malaysian construction company to have set a world record and achieved a significant milestone in the construction industry with the iconic One Za’abeel project in Dubai in 2020.
“During my visit, I received a briefing on the factory’s operations, including manufacturing, steel fabrication, and building structure design. I was informed that Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology is utilized in the project, particularly in the design and preparation stages, especially for the steel structure,” Nanta shared in his statement.
Nanta mentioned that Eversendai employs 15,000 staff and has successfully completed over 300 projects across more than 14 countries. The company operates five steel fabrication plants located in Malaysia, Dubai, Sharjah, Qatar, and India, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 tonnes.
“This advanced steel fabrication facility has contributed to the construction of some of the world’s most iconic structures, such as the Burj Khalifa and Menara Merdeka 118,” he said.
Nanta also shared a statement from Tan Sri Datuk AK Nathan, the executive chairman, group managing director, and founder of Eversendai. Nathan expressed pride in the company’s achievements, highlighting Eversendai as a symbol of national pride, representing Malaysia globally by being part of the world record-breaking One Za’abeel, the longest cantilever building in the world.
