Learn about the debut of Idaman Cahaya, the third phase of Shah Alam’s lauded Rumah Idaman MBI project. The affordable housing initiative, created by PCSB and MGB Berhad.
SELANGOR, 28 July 2023 – In collaboration with MGB Berhad (“MGB” or the “Group”), a premier provider of construction and real estate development solutions and a subsidiary of LBS Bina Group Berhad (“LBS”), Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB), a division of the Selangor State Government under the supervision of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI), held an event today for the groundbreaking of Idaman Cahaya, the third phase of the highly successful Rumah Idaman MBI project at Cahaya Alam, Shah Alam.
Idaman Cahaya, an exquisite development situated in Shah Alam, comprises of 2 plots of land, 4.72 acres (Idaman Cahaya 1) and 7.52 acres (Idaman Cahaya 2) high-rise apartments with an estimated Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM 394 million. The project presents affordable housing options with diverse layout variations, all starting at an attractive price point of RM250,000. Each of the 568 units in Idaman Cahaya are exclusively designed to cater the modern homeowner’s needs, complete with essential appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, television, television cabinets, and water heaters.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including YB Puan Rodziah Binti Ismail, the Selangor State Exco of Housing, Urban Well-being and Entrepreneur Development, and representatives from MBI, Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS), PNSB, MGB, and LBS. It was graced by the honorable presence of YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Bin Shari, the Chief Minister of Selangor. The Rumah Idaman MBI project continues to captivate the market, building on the spectacular success of the earlier launches of Idaman Bandar Saujana Putra and Idaman Melur in 2021 and 2022, respectively. It also boasts an extraordinary take-up rate from one phase to the next.
A cooperative project between MGB and PNSB Construction Sdn. Bhd., a PNSB subsidiary, Rumah Idaman MBI aims to build 7,210 affordable housing units using MGB’s Industrialized Building System (“IBS”) pre-cast technology. The well-known PCSB-MGB Consortium is in charge of constructing Idaman Cahaya and Idaman Sari. Idaman Cahaya and Idaman Sari, both of which have a virtually 100% take-up rate, will be made available by MGB as of the groundbreaking ceremony.
Tan Sri Ir. Lim Hock San, Executive Vice Chairman of MGB, expressed his delight by saying, “We take great pride in joining hands with the government to realize their vision of providing affordable and attainable housing for every Malaysian. We are confident in our ability to provide high-quality Rumah Idaman MBI homes that raise the bar for low-cost housing in Selangor by drawing on our significant construction experience. Our decision to incorporate the internal IBS precast system into the Rumah Idaman MBI developments further solidifies our commitment to utilizing our cutting-edge IBS system to become the leading provider of housing solutions. Our key goal in the near term is to make sure that the remaining Rumah Idaman MBI projects launch smoothly, as this will pave the way for further growth in the years to come.
According to the CEO of PNSB, YM Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Bin Raja Salim, PNSB would continue to develop Rumah Idaman in significant and promising areas of Selangor, including the districts of Petaling, Gombak, Kuala Langat, Klang, Kuala Selangor, and Sabak Bernam. With the use of partnerships with other reputable developers, PNSB will jointly build the 22 projects. As a result of prior advancements, 2,059 units of Idaman Abadi in Kajang 2 have been finished, while 6 additional constructions totaling 6,569 units in four districts are still under way.
YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin, meantime, emphasized the Selangor State Government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its citizens and the provision of high-quality, comfortable homes equipped with necessary amenities. He stressed Rumah Idaman Cahaya and Idaman Sari’s prime location, reasonable prices, and semi-furnished units as major draws for prospective property purchasers. Additionally, he reaffirmed his unwavering faith in the success of the Rumah Idaman MBI developments Idaman Sari, Idaman Cahaya, and others, affirming their dedication to meeting the housing needs of working-class people and new families while enhancing the standard of living for Selangor residents.
The overall qualifying requirements for the Rumah Idaman MBI projects include being a Malaysian citizen 18 years of age or older, with preference given to individuals working or residing in Selangor.
