Negeri Sembilan, 09th July 2024, 11.52am – The Negeri Sembilan government is ramping up efforts to enhance tourism programs, aiming for eight million tourist arrivals this year.
Nicole Tan Lee Koon, State Tourism, Arts and Culture Committee chairman, said initiatives include the Local Host Community program to train locals in managing and promoting nearby tourism products.
She added that the Negeri Sembilan Tourism Board (LPNS) is actively promoting various initiatives, such as local and international sales promotions, exhibitions, Business to Business (B2B) sessions, collaborations with tourism industry players, and social media promotions.
“Everyone should contribute to attracting more visitors to the state, as we have numerous tourism products to offer.
“In preparation for Visit Negeri Sembilan Year 2026 (TMNS 2026), we will continue to develop tourism products in every district,” she told Bernama.
She mentioned that LPNS, in collaboration with state government departments and agencies, is planning events for the Calendar of Events (COE), including the Ngoca Ball Festival and Trans Naning Ultra NS Challenge, which will involve international participants.
Meanwhile, she mentioned that according to a survey by the Department of Statistics Malaysia, Negeri Sembilan saw 11.49 million domestic visitors in 2022, up from 5.49 million the previous year.
A Tourism Malaysia survey revealed that 1.77 million tourists stayed in hotels in the state between January and September last year.
