KUALA LUMPUR, 3rd Nov 2023 – OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Bhd and IJM Land Bhad (IJM Land), a prominent property developer, have officially sealed their collaboration with a memorandum of understanding (MoU), paving the way for the launch of an innovative green homeownership program.

This strategic partnership aims to provide prospective homebuyers with enticing green financing packages, encouraging them to invest in IJM Land’s certified green properties. Notably, OCBC Bank stands as the first foreign financial institution to align with IJM Land in this endeavor.

The newly introduced OCBC Green Home Financing scheme is tailored specifically for those interested in purchasing IJM Land’s environmentally friendly homes. This program offers competitive financing rates and ensures a swift approval process. The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Datuk Tony Ling, Chief Operating Officer of IJM Land, and Saw Poh Hoon, Head of OCBC Bank’s Strategy and Transformation Office.

Datuk Wong Tuck Wai, Chief Executive Officer of IJM Land, emphasized their commitment to sustainability, declaring that every residential project under IJM Land is now mandated to be green-certified. Their overarching goal is to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, a vision that closely aligns with their home financing partner, OCBC Bank.

Anne Leh, Head of Consumer Financial Services at OCBC Bank, highlighted the significance of this partnership in extending a helping hand to those seeking sustainable home financing options. She believes that the collaborative effort will contribute to shaping the industry towards a more sustainable future.

In addition to the competitive rates offered through the OCBC Home Financing scheme, they have introduced a limited-time cashback program until the end of January next year, as an incentive for customers embracing environmental sustainability. This complements OCBC Bank’s existing offerings on IJM Land’s sustainably designed properties located across the Klang Valley, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak.

IJM Land has further intensified its commitment to sustainability with the recent launch of the “Make A Difference” (MAD) campaign. This initiative is geared towards promoting sustainable practices. Prospective homeowners can actively participate in the MAD campaign, which will run until December 31, 2023.

The campaign features a series of events designed to collect over 40,000kg of recyclables, engage in 40 million collective healthy steps to reduce carbon footprint, and distribute 4,000 plants.
