“Pahang to develop Malaysia’s first east coast AI Data Centre in 2026, boosting agricultural product marketing globally. Affordable housing projects near ECRL stations aim to enhance residents’ quality of life and drive economic growth.“
Pahang, 17th Jan 2025, 11.15am – The Pahang government is set to establish an Artificial Intelligence Data Centre (AIDC) to revolutionize the marketing of local agricultural products domestically and globally. The initiative, led by the Pahang State Development Corporation (PKNP), is slated for implementation in January 2026.
Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail stated that the AIDC, the first of its kind in the east coast region, will harness artificial intelligence and public computing technologies to create a robust regional smart computing data hub.
“This initiative will empower entrepreneurs by providing a cutting-edge platform to market agricultural products while boosting Pahang’s economy and advancing the nation’s digital industry,” Wan Rosdy said in a statement.
Affordable Housing Near ECRL Stations
The Pahang government has also approved the development of the Pangsapuri Pahangku housing project near the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) station in Bentong. This affordable housing project is part of the state’s effort to provide comfortable homes for residents, particularly the younger generation, while leveraging the strategic connectivity of the ECRL network.
In addition, transit-oriented development (TOD) projects are planned around all ECRL stations. These TOD projects will feature commercial hubs, residential units, educational institutions, and community facilities aimed at transforming socioeconomic development in the Bentong region.
“These projects will create job opportunities, improve living standards, and strengthen housing and transportation infrastructure across Pahang,” Wan Rosdy added.
The initiatives reflect the state government’s commitment to economic growth, technological innovation, and enhancing the well-being of its residents.
